From this point you’ll find stunning views to the west & south coast.

After a good explanation by the experienced multilingual guide, you will cycle back to the coast… easy going downhill!
He will take you on quiet land roads and will stop at the most picturesque sites and give you information about the local wildlife and nature. Since 2001 rolls down this mountain. They have now developed this tour into a safe & fun concept of cycling in the mountains, suitable for young people and for those who stayed young!

The trip is suitable for everyone between 14-70 years with some cycling experience. To deliver optimal service during the tour a service car will follow with water and your belongings.

The trip is also organized during the summer months, in a way that even the hottest days are not a problem. As the association remarks: “The lazy way to enjoy the beautiful green Serra de Monchique”:
enjoy our easiest bike trip, leading you downhill through eucalyptus and cork tree forests. 98 % of this trip is downhill – so let the gravity work for you!

This trip is available every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday; from 10.30 to 14.30 hr.

The price per person is € 39.00 uros including pick nick lunch, home made cake + fruit of the season in local tavern, transport up the mountain, a professional bike guide, All Terrain Bike and helmet, a service car following the group, and water.

Just tell us when you want to take part to the trip and we will book for you!

Starting from the highest top in the Algarve, the 902 meters high Foia, you will first descend on gravel roads through the windmill park, and then continue on single tracks through the many eucalyptus forests and along small farms.
The lunch will be provided in a local tavern half way the descent, still in the Monchique mountains. After lunch you have got one small climb to do, after that it runs all the way downhill and off road to the Autodromo, the Algarve´s Formula One race circuit.
Now you will follow the water channels (in Portuguese, “levadas”) through the nature protected area of Ria de Alvor.

The aluminium mountain bikes come in different size from 15″ to 21″. The bikes have adjustable and lock-out front suspension with 80 mm travel. Cycling along the beaches.

If you better enjoy to cycle along the cliffs, the best way to follow is the Ecovia do Litoral,

Officially the bike path has been finished for some years but local Tourist Information offices may still deny it is complete. Some of the signs have been removed, the map on the official Ecovia website differs in places from the marked route and consequently Algarvian bike shops and holiday operators make a good living from running guided tours. But trust us, you don’t need a guide. Generally, the route is easy to follow if you keep your eyes open and if you know roughly where you are. Anyway, with our pre-loaded GPS you will never get lost.
